VERNIER TRANSIT THEODOLITE
 Description:
The vernier theodolite is also known as a transit. In a transit theodolite or simply transit the telescope can be rotated in a vertical plane. Earlier versions of theodolites were of the non-transit type and are obsolete now. The vernier theodolite is also known as a transit theodolite.

RANGING ROD
 Description:
A ranging rod is a surveying instrument used for marking the position of stations, and for sightings of those stations, as well as for ranging straight lines. Initially these were made of light, thin and straight bamboo, or of well seasoned wood such as teak, pine or deodar. They were shod with iron at the bottom and surmounted with a flag about 250 mm square in size. Nowadays they are made of wood, metal or fibre glass. The rods are usually about 30 mm in diameter and 2 m or 3 m long, painted with alternating bands, such as red and white, red and yellow, or black and white, in lengths of 200 mm (i.e. one link length of metric chain), 500 mm, or one foot. These colours are used so that the rod can be properly sighted in case of long distance or bad weather. Ranging rods of greater length, e.g. 3 to 6 m, are called ranging or range poles, and are used for very long survey lines. 
 

HELICAL COIL HEAT EXCHANGER MAKE : CREATIVE LAB MODEL NO: CLHT-15
DESCRIPTION:
The apparatus consists of fabricated shell, inside which coil tubes on outer side are fitted. The present set up is a heat exchanger, with cold water flows through shell. Valves are provided to control the flow rates of hot and cold water. Flow rates of hot and cold water are measured using Rotameters. A magnetic drive pump is used to circulate the hot water from a re-cycled type water tank, which is fitted with heaters and Digital Temperature Controller.
EXPERIMENTATION:
The main object of the experimental setup is to study the following at various flow rates:

 Heat transfer rate 
 Overall Heat Transfer Co-efficient.

THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF LIQUIDS

DESCRIPTION:
The apparatus is designed to determine thermal conductivity of different liquids. The apparatus consists of a heater. The heater heats a thin layer of liquid. A cooling plate removes heat through liquid layer, ensuring unidirectional heat flow. Temperature is measured across the liquid layer and complete assembly is properly insulated. A proper arrangement for changing the liquids is provided. The whole assembly is kept in a chamber.
