ABSORPTION IN WETTED WALL COLUMN MAKE : CREATIVE LAB MODEL NO: CLMT-13
DESCRIPTION:
The set up consists of a glass column. Alkaline liquid is fed at the top of the column along the walls to create a laminar liquid flow along the walls of a wetted wall column. Flow rates of Air and Co2, are measured separately, mixed in a mixing chamber and then passed through the column vertically upward and absorbed in liquid film around the wall. All the flow rates can be independently varied to simulate different conditions. Liquid Sample can be taken out from the sampling point at the bottom of the column for analysis.
EXPERIMENTATION:
To determine the number of transfer units, Height of transfer unit and overall mass transfer co-efficient for the given system.

VAPOUR IN AIR DIFFUSION MAKE : CREATIVE LAB MODEL NO:CLMT-14
DESCRIPTION:
Using a small sample of the liquid in a narrow vertical tube, and observing its rate of evaporation into stream of air passed across the top of the tube can conveniently be used to study the diffusion of vapour of a volatile liquid into air. The set up consists of a glass tube placed in a water bath. A horizontal glass tube is fixed to the upper end of the tube and air is drawn through this by a small air pump included within the unit. Air flows over this tube maintaining partial pressure difference. A Traveling microscope with sliding vernier scale is provided to measure the rate of fall of solvent within capillary. A stirrer is fitted to maintain constant temperature inside the bath.
EXPERIMENTATION:
Determination of the diffusion co-efficient of an organic vapour in air.
To study the effect of temperature on diffusion co-efficient.

NATURAL DRAFT TRAY DRYER MAKE : CREATIVE LAB MODEL NO:CLMT-16
DESCRIPTION                                                                                                 
Natural Draft Tray Dryer is a dryer in which moisture removal takes place by heat under natural condition. The set-up consists of an insulated Stainless Steel chamber fitted with heater. Inside the chamber a tray is attached directly to an electronic weighing balance, which is fitted on the bottom, outside the chamber. Material for drying is placed in the tray and regular loss of weight is monitored. Temperature controller fitted in the set-up maintains the required temperature in the chamber.
EXPERIMENTATION:
To study the drying characteristics of a solid material under batch drying condition.
 Determination of drying rate and to plot moisture lost with time under for different operating conditions.

DESCRIPTION                                                                                                        
This is a dryer in which moisture removal takes place by means of forced draft action created by hot air. The set-up consists of an insulated double wall chamber. Inside the chamber a tray is attached directly to a electronic weighing balance, which is fitted on the bottom, outside the chamber. Material for drying is placed in the tray and regular loss of weight is monitored. Air from a blower passes through a heating chamber and is used as drying agent. Arrangement is done to vary the airflow rate.
EXPERIMENTATION:
To study the drying characteristics of a solid under forced draft condition and determine the critical moisture content.
To correlate the constant drying rate with air mass velocity.

ROTARY DRYER MAKE : CREATIVE LAB MODEL NO:CLMT-18
DESCRIPTION                                                                                     
Rotary dryer is a unit in which drying is done by forced draft action created by hot air. The set-up consists of a long revolving cylindrical shell slightly inclined towards the outlet. The shell is fitted with two brackets for support. Air from a blower passes through a heating chamber serves the purpose of drying agent. An arrangement for rotating the dryer shell at low RPM is provided by means of an electrical motor and a reduction gearbox.
Wet feed enters from one end of the cylinder and dry material discharges from the other end. As the shell rotates internal flights lift the solids and shower them down through the interior of the shell. This action increases the contact of wet solid against hot air making the dryer very effective. The flow of hot air is counter-current to solids. Flow control and by-pass valve are fitted to regulate the airflow.

To study the operation of a Rotary Dryer.
To study the drying characteristics of a solid material under batch drying condition in a rotary dryer.
